Himachal Pradesh bests of the highest peaks of the Himalayas. Kinnaur
being the highest. Spiti boasts of the largest number of monasteries in the
world and the world's highest wildlife reserve, the land of the snow leopards,
ibex and the golden eagle. Lahaul is the land of the glaciers. The area offers
beautiful mountain panoramas and a wide spectrum of activities, adventure,
leisure, culture, religion, tribals, temples and wildlife.
Four-wheel drive, jeeps with driver and local escort and used in this program.
Most drives are on blacktop roads. Usually two to three persons can be comfortably
seated in one jeep. Accommodations are in good first class hotels to tented
camps but few nights are at rather basic guest houses/tented camps. This tour
is offered in July and September with fixed departure dates and will operate
with a minimum of five passengers, with a local escort. If you are a party
of four or more traveling together, this tour can be arranged on a private
basis with a local escort.
Day 01 Your tour begins
Day 02 Arrive Delhi
Day 03 Delhi - Chandigarh
Morning tour of Delhi. Afternoon three hour train ride to Chandigarh.
Day 04 Chandigarh - Shimla
Drive to the premier hill station Shimla. Afternoon tour of Shimla and the
Mall Road.
Day 05 Shimla - Sarahan
Sarahan is a beautiful village surrounded by apple orchards and dominated
by a 15000 ft high peak. See the temple and the buddhist monastery.
Day 06 Sarahan - Chitkul
Drive through the breathtaking gorges of the greater Himalayas to Sangla Valley
The eternal snow view from here is an unforgettable sight.
Day 07 Chitkul
Full day to visit the ancient villages of Chitkul temples and monasteries.
Day 08 Chitkul-Kalpa
Drive to Kalpa with a view of the Kinner kailash peak 18,755ft. Afternoon
walk to see the village Roghi and Chini village.
Day 09 Kalpa
A full day to visit ancient villages of Pangi, Telangi, Kothi and Recong Peo.
Day 10 Kalpa - Nako
Drive beyond the timberline to village Nako at the confulence of Sutlej and
Spiti rivers. Afternoon visit monsteries and temples of the area.
Day 11 Nako-Tabo
Deeper into the Spiti valley, see the Chos Khor monastery which houses 100
or more monks.
Day 12 Tabo-Pin-Dhankar-Schiling
Another driving day visiting en route Dhankar Gompa, Pin Valley National park
Etc.
Day 13 Schiling-Ki-Kibber-Kaza
Drive to Kaza the capital of Spiti. Visit the famous Ki and Kibber Gompas
Day 14 Kaza-Chhatru-Manali
Drive to Chhatru over the Kunzum pass (14,100ft) and then over the Rohtang

Day 15 Manali
Full day to visit the Hidamba temple, Old Manali and see Naggar.
Day 16Manali-Delhi-Homeward
Drive to Kullu airport for flight to Delhi
before connecting flight
