Kotagarh
Of course nobody believed that he could make a go of it, so in 1919 he planted
trees on his 200 acres. They began bearing fruit in 1925 and the market immediately
went crazy over them. Almost overnight farmers took to apple cultivation and
soon the apple culture spread all over Shimla hills and beyond. And so, many
poor farmers came to be prosperous orchard owners and lived happily ever after.
