8Nights / 9Days
An epic journey on one of the highest motorable roads in the world.

Best Time: July -September

Day 1 Delhi - Manali
Arrive Bhuntar Airport near Kulu. Transfer to hotel in Manali, an hour's drive away. Day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 Manali
Manali is an ideal place for walks, climbs and treks. Visit Dhoongri Temple also known as Hadimba Temple, believed to be a thousand years old. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 Manali - Jispa
Begin the spectacular three-day drive to Ladakh. This high altitude road connects the densely fertile Kulu valley to the stark barren region of Ladakh. The first day of the drive is the Manali (1, 978 m) to Jispa 146 km drive. Camp is set up for the night.

Day 4 Jispa - Pang
A 157-km drive from Jispa to Pang (4, 115 m). From Jispa a level stretch leads to the checkpost at Darcha from where the road begins a steady and at times steep ascent up the Bhaga river. We cross the Baralacha La pass (4, 883 m) and Lachlung La (16, 615 ft) across and the Zanskar range. By late evening you approach the campsite at Pang. From the camp a short walk to the top of a nearby ridge leads you to a large lake -- the Tsar Tso.

Day 5 Pang - Stok / Leh
A 185-KM Drive from Pang to Stok/ Leh (3, 500 m). The road follows the Indus to Leh. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 6 Leh
After breakfast explore some of Ladakh's ancient gompas. Shey Palace was built in 1645 by Deldan Namgyal as a summer residence for the kings of Ladakh. Thikse Gompa is the most picturesquely situated in Ladakh. Hemis Gompa is one of the most important gompas in Ladakh, the largest and also the wealthiest. It was built in 1620 by the king-architect Singe Namgyal, a great patron of Buddhism. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 Trek
After breakfast depart for a short two-day trek. Matho village lies about 20 km south of Leh on the other side of the Indus river and its gompa offers spectacular views of the Ladakh mountain range from its position on top of a ridge. From the end of the village, start ascending towards Matho La. Overnight in camp.

Day 8 Trek
Continue ascending gradually and after crossing a small pass, descend to the Stok Nala. Explore Stok village, Stok Palace and museum, before returning to Leh.

Day 9 Leh - Delhi
Early morning transfer to Leh Airport for onward flight. Please note :- It is possible to extend this jeep safari to the Nubra valley across the Khardungla, at 18,300 ft, the highest motorable pass in the world.
