Milestone Adveture & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. Having gained deep insight and experience in the travel industry, and understanding the varied and extensive needs of tourists, Milestones was evolved in June, 1995 with the aim of promoting eco-friendly tourism and to develop and enhance the potential of adventure sports and soft adventure camps in India. The organization offers exotic destinations in the Northern region and provides adventure based programmes in the Garhwal and Kumaon hills, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and the North Eastern circuit. It provides arange of programmes : from customized holidays, white water rafting, trekking, jeep safaris, wildlife tours, angling, soft adventure camps and outdoor training to organizing packages incorporating adventure, leisure, learning and entertainment. Great care is taken to provide customised, quality service to all clients and attention is paid to all details while planning itineraries.

Organizational Objectives :

1) Promotion of alternative tourism through exploration of uncharted destinations as opposed to the concept of visiting popular 'hill stations'.
2) Promotion of adventure tourism in the Himalayas. The basic emphasis is on promotion of weekend getaways to provide ideal breaks from hectic metropolitan lifestyles
3) To suggest, design and plan packages and customized itineraries according to customer preferences.
4) To work with local NGO's and Missions towards the upliftment and betterment of the region, its people and facilities and try and create employment opportunities for the community. To promote the concept of 'Business in the Wilderness' - involving the organization of business conferences at off - beat, yet well - equipped destinations, the aim being to provide holiday cum business conference venues to the corporate world.
5) Development of special 'training-programme' packages for 'Corporate Houses' and other Organizations. Specific packages are being designed for HRD Training under the Milestones' Employee Recreation and Development Programme.
6) To design objective-based itineraries for schools, incorporating environmental and cultural heritage preservation programmes, in an attempt to create an awareness of and find solutions to prevalent issues.

Present Activities:

Conferences: The Organization has tie-ups and net-working with various Heritage and Luxury properties in Northern India and can organize and plan individual holidays, outdoor conferences, training programmes, dealer meets and other corporate events. An annexure listing some possible destinations is attached.
White Water Rafting: The most addictive of all water sports, rafting is an activity that captures the spirit of adventure. The company has a Camp at Rishikesh ( functional from 15th September to 15th May) with its own beach and the necessary infrastructure and gear required to carry on rafting activities. Besides Rishikesh, the company also organizes rafting at the following destinations :
Himachal Pradesh: River Beas (May, June)
Spiti Valley: River Zanskar (July, August, September)
Leh / Ladakh: River Indus (July, August, September)
Jeep Safaris in Himachal Pradesh, Spiti Valley, Kumaon and Garhwal regions. The itineraries range from 10 to 21 days in duration and can be customised depending on travellers' preferences. Networking with Holiday Camps at Clouds End, Nainital, Dharali, Dhanolti, Shoja and other remote
places in Himachal Pradesh. These camps provide ample scope for soft adventure activities like Rock Climbing, River Crossing, Hiking, etc. and are fully equipped with facilities for accommodation, food, toilets, and various camp activities and camp games ( like carrom, chess, volleyball, badminton etc.). Wildlife Tracking and Soft Treks. Various itineraries incorporating leisure and fun combined with the above mentioned activities make camping a memorable experience. Some eco-initiatives are also undertaken at the camps like tree planting, pit digging and establishing environment friendly waste disposal systems. These activities help create an awareness amongst tourists about the need to preserve the environment.
Himalayan Traxx ( Round the year trekking in the Majestic Himalayas ) - organised in Kumaon, Garhwal, Himachal and Ladakh. Winter treks are undertaken in the foothills in the Kumaon and Garhwal region - ( Nainital, Ranikhet, Rishikesh ).

Infrastructure :

Offices in Delhi and Rishikesh with networking facility with major tour operators all over India. Trekking equipment for about 40 participants at any time. Professional / technical staff along with a network of freelance guides / instructors. Adequate infrastructure at key points for its various operations. The staff and promoters of the company are professionals in their respective fields and have extensive academic and technical expertise and experience. Special understanding and deals with resorts and hotels for corporate conferences across the country, ensuring best deals combined with personalized and efficient services. An effective marketing set-up ( both internal and tie - ups with major operators ) to promote eco and adventure tourism and design special packages to promote activities s.a. corporate incentive packages, Human Resource Development (HRD) packages, and educational-cum action based packages for schools / institutions.
